Bengali Festival

I know people don't think Bloomsburg and cultural diversity in the same sentence, but there was a Bengali festival at the Bloomsburg park yesterday. It was unfortunately a cold day, but fun. The girls played with their friends and were running around the park. There was music performed by the internationally known Tabla Maestro Ustad, Kadar Khan of Kalavant Center of Music and Dance of New York. Interesting how they perform at the Lincoln Center and at the Bloomburg Park! The music was great. Of course there was also DELICIOUS ethnic food. We all ate (Dan and I more than the kids since some was spicy) and enjoyed ourselves.

The girls got henna on their hands as well as a Bindi on the forehead. They thought it was so cool. They had to keep their hands still for so long to let the henna dry before it smudged. Dan went for a long walk around the park with them and then we tried the blow drier. Guess what the henna was still there when they woke up!
